I keep getting matched against level 50s exclusively. I have no chance. Is this happeneing to anyone else?

I got a great staff at 43 and was killing people with 1 hit, but now suddenly at 45 I cannot get a single kill because of how im matched :(

Is there a way to downgrade your level?

P.S. in case anyone is asuming I'm just being pissy, I can give multiple hits to opponents now and not even take their hp down to half while they kill me with one shot.

    Hi @PantryRaider ,

no, there is no way to downgrade your level. You can only go up ;)

    Good luck!

You're cries are heard, but lost in the noise right now because of the thousands of cries about PVP. We all feel your pain and hope it gets better. You will unlikely gain your previous level of power until you get to 50 and fill up your points. Remember you are fighting guys that have been farming for years to make sure you dont stand a chance. Find a niche you can perform like helping guard the flag or escorting a runner and keep at it. Leveling up would be your best course to get to endgame gear also. Farm farm farm and save ander to buy gems. You will eventually be one of those pvpers that some level 45 is pissed at.

This happens to all low level pvp-ers. Some play for years at low level until one day they hit 45 (before it was 40) and they stop getting matched against noobs who have been playing for 2 weeks and they start playing real pvp. And it HURTS! It's a completely different ball game. You will now meet players who have been farming millions of glyphs each day for the last 4 years, who paid thousands and thousands for royal and special gems and who have been tweaking their gear for years until they've reached perfection and have played hundreds of events and gotten many many rewards which you do not have yet and which give them the upper hand. You thought you were tuff at low level with 2k dmg and 1 shotting opponents, well now you'll meet 7k dmg monsters who will eat you in a second :D

I did a little bit of pvp myself at low level to get 40 pvp before leveling up because I thought the pvp skills will be useful in pve (not anymore). Anyway I was pretty good in the 20-35 level range.

But when I reached 40, I was getting matched only against 45s and it was just completely different than 20-39 bracket pvp. It was impossible and I needed a few weeks of accomodation in which I had to farm a lot and I was very weak in the beginning. My crit went down, my armor, resistance.... everything went down because I still had low level items on me and I was getting matched against people who had max upgraded gear with millions of glyphs.

The same will probably happen to you (and most everyone else) when you reach max level. You'll be very weak for a few weeks / months until you find the right items, farm some glyphs, gems, do some events etc

This is why I think low level pvp for a long time is a big waste of time because you keep lying to yourself that you're strong, some do this for 2-3 years with their low level toons and when they reach max level they get hit in the face by reality. All of a sudden they're not so strong anymore.

So I think the best thing now is to just level up from 1 to 50 as fast as possible without wasting time with pvp, especially now since you don't need pvp skills anymore for pve.

Yes, it sucks. I was in the same boat when the level limit was 45. I was never a one hitter, but I was able to stand my ground up to level 39, but as soon as I hit level 40, things changed dramatically. All matches were comprised of 45s and me. Well, needless to say, I had no chance and was getting anywhere from 0 to 10 fame per match.

So, do you not have any options?
Of course you have some options. Here are some things that you can do:

    1. If you prefer to continue to PvP until you get to 50, bear it and continue to play PvP. Right now, you have a higher win rate and so will be matched with 50 players. But, as you lose match after match, when your win rate gets lower and lower you will be matched with similar opponents and you will get lower levels as your opponents. Just be patient and continue to complete the matches. You will get there.

    2. As others said, you have an option of leveling to 50, but you will still have to farm a lot to be in par with the rest. This is painful but still a choice.

    3. Next expansion will be here before you know it. That is probably around September 2016. You can park your character for now and play a different character until the expansion hits. When you will again be in the lower level crowd.

    4. Start a whole new character and repeat. It is much easier to gain ground in PvP with a lower level character.

The price for having access to players up to 5 levels below you to 1-shot with your "great staff" is.... you get to be a light snack for players 5 levels above you with even greater weapons. Seems fair to me.

Im sorry to say , but its fair to know now ur not 1 hit killer. U made tons of players give up on pvp because u were unfair. Now its ur turn and this is how PVP works.

Keep ur work , farm , do pvp and ull get there ! - but one hit kill again it will take u a lot of time .....

Few years agor, 3 or so, when the max lvl was 40, I played a DK. It was pretty good tank, at least I thought so, and it was pretty successful in pvp, up until lvl39. At that time lvl40 players played only other lvl40 players. I didn't have the fame lvl35 when I reached level 40. And it was a hell, similar to what you experience. I was getting coupled with end game pros, without a single chance to survive.

That was one of the reasons I quit DSO, for a year or so. Maybe not the main reason but still.

My point is, don't let that destroy your enjoyment of the game, if you have any. The reality is reality, you have reached the end game and it is whole another level of play, and yes, you need to work hard to get there, because all those that kill you, did work hard.

Also, having good staff doesn't mean a good char. With few exceptions, playing 2handed mage is a joke at the end game arena. There are some uses in 5v5, but you either need to be really strong armor wide, or accept the fact you are playing 1 hit kill or die kind of arena, intentionally.

Cdeepal pointed out good directions for you. The win rate is pretty valid suggestion. But anyway, you will never feel that comfortable like you did before. Premier-league has its own rules and level. Farm) good luck

There are two sides of the coin ... now you have to face the other side. You like when you one hit kill people but not when you get one hit killed ...
The best solution for you is to level up to 50.
