Tried to log on to play but got a message stating:

"Drakensang Online servers will not be available for a short time due to scheduled maintenance. You can find more information about the server maintenance, patches and hot fixes in the forum."

But guess what? I couldn't find anything in the Forum about the schedule. Not in the patch section, not in the general section. No where.

So maybe actually post the notice somewhere it can be found? And list the end date and time fo the maintenance on the log-in screen so people trying to log in can be informed of when they can resume playing.

Seems pretty standard to me so unsure why such basic steps aren't already implemented.

I am also here trying to figure out when the game will come back. I also cannot find anything that makes sense and this entire forum setup sort of makes my head hurt.

When I tried to go on the forum it was all like 'this is your last chance to change your name' which I didn't understand either since like I hadn't even gone to the forums before. I am starting to wonder if I was silly to decide to buy something in this game last night...

The forum format is the least efficient way to locate any specific piece of information. Try finding game mechanics......

on the bright side it's super fun killing things and finding items in the game even if the forums are a trainwreck

sorry as a new player i wasn't sure how to find that thread you linked since i had no clue what I wanted to find information on was hotfix 3 for r155.68282. I do appreciate you sharing the link however. It might be beneficial to put that sort of information at the top or even on the drakensang page for future people who read forums with their eyes closed.

Or even people who started 2 days ago and don't know we are deploying r155.68282 this morning :)

No worries ... this is how we cheer up the new players ... with a joke.
Because when the players start reading the patch notes ... they usually start crying. :D

An arrogant comment doesn't address the issue: Clearly multiple people were unable to locate that particular post--likely given the inherent mess of the forum format. A point mention above. Improvements in the manner of making off-line notices are still desired.

A better system might be to have the "Game play will resume on" message in the screen that informs you the system is down.

The information source is BP DSO, they control what info is placed on that "server is down" screen when you try to log in. They avoid putting an ETRO because it rarely happens in the time frame they expect. In other words something always makes them go longer than the estimated time. Information to place in the forum also goes through channels to our Mods that place it here when they get it. That info that was linked by Trak was a kind of weird one because it came out several days before they actually posted the implementation date. It was a trainwreck for all including our mods that have to rely on an outside source for current info.

Because you are ignorant makes my comment "arrogant"?
Nothing is wrong with the forum ... you only need to learn using it. And of course people need to read everything ... no one is entitled only to ask questions without reading the answers ... and waiting for the other people's reply.
You already have notifications when logging in or logging out of the game ... or you have missed them too?
Every time when there is an server maintenance or some fix or some other information ... there is a notification that pops up when you log in.

Remember the scene in the movie "Titanic," where the mom in steerage assured her children, they would have their turn at the lifeboats?
It works like that here, too.

Well, in the past few days there have been several patches that came unannounced... unless you take opening the client and then having to wait as an announcement. It's kinda frustrating when you want to log in and you have to wait because there's a fix being applied. I understand it when it's one that requires server shutdown & maintenance, but these were too numerous with too little time in between, and still about 800 MB in size, each (weird though how a patch with numerous fixes and one with just a tinier one are the same size in disk storage space). I don't even know what the heck I'm being made to download since there are no patchnotes. I stated this on here already, and someone told me they weren't experiencing it because they were playing via browser. So, why does the client have the extra stuff? It's a new thing because it never occurred before, meaning that every time I had to wait for it to download was for announced new releases and updates or critical fixes (i.e. inability to log in, black screen or some other general failure).

Titanic? That movie is for "rainbow" liking people. :D

Several associations are possible, including these for me:
God's Bow of War, which He hung up, when he made peace with Humanity - ancient lore.
The Rainbow Coalition, an alliance of gay, lesbian, transgender, and bisexual people, that won rights recently in the US.
The pot of gold at the end of the rainbow - a myth and teaching tool about pursuing goals and turning hope into reality.
"Titanic" - a love story/movie, set in a period of grandiose arrogance and extravagance.

Yeah, I like rainbows. Big, pretty, free. I saw 7 in the sky at one time, 43 years ago in the Painted Desert. Awesome. :)

  15. Big Papa and Trakilaki are correct: the details regarding the hotfix were posted, as they always are, in the HQ section of the forum. The implementation was delayed for a couple of days because of some synching issues. The new schedule was posted as soon as it came to hand. Before getting one's knickers too bunched up about such things, please remember that the forum admins are volunteers and they do occasionally sleep, work or spend time with their families, so forum updates can be delayed a little at times.

And ain't no-one better be dissing rainbows around here. They're purdy!
