Balor as an Agro/Defense Tank

I have played as a 2H DK for the past year and a half. It drives me nuts to abandon that playstyle for anything, but with the changes made in R155, it is impractical to tank Balor 2H. Can it be done? Yes. I've done it myself. However, I almost always had at least a couple of deaths due to poor timing. On the other hand, using the new battle cry with the agro talent, and seriously buffed defense, I can tank with almost no significant DPS. The bulk of the damage has to come from the traditional damage dealers while meanwhile I spam the agro attack to keep them from getting blasted every couple of seconds, but it is an effective method and much easier than everyone running around like crazy.

The only thing that could make this better is if they improved the agro skill so that it lasted 5-10 seconds as opposed to 2-3 seconds.

 

I refuse to give up 2h playstyle due to some incredibly dull minded decisions. I didnt choose 2h playstyle for it being OP I, chose it because I liked it. This is not for you Baragain,but for the devs. I WONT compromise.

Fortunately, switching to this build only costs about 2.5 gold in gem swaps. I don't move my damage gems and my spare speed gems are in the sword. The goal is to generate as much rage as fast as possible to spam the agro skill. Damage is almost irrelevant except for some HP regen, that makes just a little difference.

I used red on one run and then I used blues on this run to compare... interestingly enough, I died when I had the reds on, and lived when I had the blues on.

 

Does aggro/defense with new battle cry work on mortis as well?

 

I believe so. Ran with a 2h DK who used it on Mortis. Otherwise I suppose I'd be a little crispy from my lack of res. :3

 

see i knew it ! the new skill for dk is usable against balor , and yet other people says otherwise
