The point here is farming for XP when you've done all the possible progress available. Crazying for XP all the time, from the moment you sign up, is, indeed, a bad approach. Buffing up your gear is also essential.
I always use Gree Ess. on maps with worthy monsters (+40 damage can't hurt). Plus, it's not the most expensive thing in the world... I always have a 9k stack of those on the ready.

I agree...4-5 gold for a full stack is not bad and easy to obtain. Most of the time they're always equipped.

My personal opinion...I believe we should change the system all together. I think instead of having stats on gear we should be able to train skills for that gear. That way the skills/stats are totally dependent on the player, not some random.......whatever. Of course there would be different skill categories. For example....a skill in weapon training. In that category there will be (depending on class) sword training and/or mace (depending on what weapon you wanna use)or long/short bow training..... etc. A skill in armor. Broken down to shield, chest, head...etc. Hope y'all know what I mean.

Now, back on topic....in that instance as I stated above(of course it'll have to be refined) we wouldn't need lvls or grinding. We would simply be ranked by our skills that WE(the players) dedicate to train for.

I know this idea will get beaten up but oh well....just my thoughts ;)

It depends on the style of play. I never used the gem + 5% exp or any other buffs however I did not find it difficult to advance when needed. Until 32 lvl there are no problems with lvling up, but there is always a way to acquire exp ... in the case of getting lvl 33 there is old good pal Sigi :) and 5-6k per round. Killing him some 20 times (usualy need some 100k of exp) is metter of hour or two of play in good party

YOU dont have to be 45 in a week enjoy the game. PW quests take a long time why not try those. I did stalgard with my sw after lvl 45. Dont need to rush the game.

Again, this discussion is more about having to farm for XP at higher levels, as you run out of XP-giving quests before you reach cap-level.
I agree. The journey is just about as fun as the experience of being a max-level player.

Hi I am quiet new and have a few questions about the topic:

    1) What is PW?
    2) How much time do you need from level 30+ to 45? (no special gear)
    3) Regarding 2) with the time I could then find it out by myself, but what is better for those levels, Dragonspawn for ~16k Adamant giving permanent +20% exp | or 20xScroll of Insight for 800*20 Adamant giving +100% exp for 20 hours (using the 16k Adamant from Dragonspawn instead)?

    Thanks for help

    1) Parallel World is a hard version of the first few dungeons on the game.
    2) You can probably get from 30 to 45 in 2 weeks of moderate play but I'd recommend you take the time to enjoy the game.
    3) Get the dragon if you have the ander but the scrolls would be better if you really want to power-level.

Thanks for the response. I was told that it is very important to reach max level asap in a beginner guide I watched on youtube... The streamer didn't tell why you had to do it, but I kind of believed him. Now after your response (and reading some of the other responses) I wonder if not maybe a 5% critical strike Pet would be more "fun", since the journey is also gameplay! ??
ps: yes i just have the adermant for a pet, which I wondered about since it's a more or less permanent buff.

"max level asap"? I wouldn't (and I'm not).

The game is a blast. High level, particularly over powered (OP) characters tend to get all the good gear/prizes in events but if you work at it, you'll get there too. The trek in to that level is entertaining and educational.

In the meantime, the game has great graphics, a lot of content, a lot of players you can interact with, and, if you plan on PvP'ing, going fast to level 45 (soon to be 50) isn't going to help much. In fact, it may be detrimental.

Personally, I recommend taking a step back and relax. Enjoy the game. Take what you can from it. Learn from what you did wrong and go on. Play because it is fun. Not because some "guy" on YouTube thinks you should go fast. :D

As for the pets? They come, they go. You'll get a better/different one to match whatever equipment you have acquired so don't think that because you have one, you won't want another in a different scenario.

DSO allows you to have up to 4 (soon to be 5??) characters. Try a different one. No need to race to the top.

Agreed. As I wrote in another post, a patient, casual approach to this game goes a long way.

this maybe the case up to lvl 35ish, but after that its a nasty slugy grind, grinding the same monsters, the same areas, and get little to no xp, no quests to do as they run out, it is NOT a fun experience at all running around the same map for 3 days with little to no point in it

Well, I don't run around the same map for three days. I find things to do that are different. Do a Parallel World. Hang with friends in the Temple Sector. See how fast you can clear Atlantis. Try Gorga solo. I find that not focusing on the experience level works well and I level up regardless. ;)

Thanks @ Dragonnns, I mostly agree.
To add some gameplay: You can also do the events (on your level) and play different levels like Blackborg - to farm some more fairy wood (one example).
By the way this was the video :p

I didn't think of it as a perfect pet, but my piont was the pet was a good thing to invest in since it lasts - if you want - forever and also the buff is helpful on all levels. So at least until I got alot of other stuff covered like inventory gems and finally equpiment on higher level etc I won't get a new pet. But thanks for the heads up: In that regard what's a alternative in damage for a 5% crit hit pet? (since I only saw one pet-seller yet)

And still the original question, 20% exp pet or 5% crit hit pet? By the way: I'm a ranger so I want damage primarily.

    Great point!

Me? I'd take the critical hit as the experience will come. But if you are more like danny868686, experience might be more important and then the other one would make more sense.

I'd like to level up more slowly (ie, farm for drops instead of XP), cuz leveling-up = upgrading gear. That gets real-$$$ expensive when I don't have the glyphs/anders for upgrading. If I leveled up more slowly, I'd have more time to replenish ingame currency w/o having to worry about "keeping up."

Leveling faster means you can get to level 45 faster and you can farm level 45 items and more resources.

That is not DSO ... that is Drakensang FX.

A side note on the 5% pet. It increases your crit hit rate by 5% which means it increases your actual critical hit by about 1.3%.

35? I only found it a bit slow after lv40.

Oh wow :D 14k adermant + pet slot, for just 1.3%, thanks for the note.

    Cool point!
