Fairy Wood discussion

It really depends on the way we see. Though this is not the place to talk about drops (other than frags , woods and silvers), i think most of the players (those that plays for some hours a day) have new moon set for example. I never see this set as a good one but the dmg inc, took me 2 events to get my full newmoon set when i decided that I would give it a try. Is it so bad? - NO. Everybody was tranformed in tissue paper with newmoon lol ! But we see newmoon set everywhere from Kings Hill to PW atriums.
There will be always someone searching for something (sets, gems, uniques) and this is what keeps the game working. They will be unhappy till they get what they want and if they do what they have to do , they will get the drops. Some will quit , some not.

 

worst case will be 60 fairy fire every run which means worst case will be 27 runs to do whole event so if during event you have all the bad luck possible you will need a max of 27 x 12 x 10 = 3240 wood

 

Here is what I've been averaging for fairy wood farming.. It would have to get significantly better to be considered sad...Did 4 trips today and this was my best run in terms of wood and gear drops... I know that it's possible to get a little over 100 wood in a trip, but it's been a while since I've seen over 100 on a single run.

 

The farming maps vary on the number of root creatures available in each map. More creatures = more +2 and +5 drops. The average drop/creature is fairly consistent.
The boss creatures drops 2 - 50 wood. Vary your attack, and find a way to maximize that drop. You can convince him to give you bigger drops, if you work it right.

The last 3 events cost me 2700 wood, 2700 wood, and 2775 wood, and about 4 hours. You can sprint to the cauldrons on a speed run, bypassing most of the minions. It involves some jumping across chasms. Your group makes a big difference.
Some groups have players who clear the map, then other players come in for the defend and spider boss. Sometimes the only goal is defend and kill spider.
Jullov can help a little. He can give enough to get a scroll when needed, but usually not enough fire to reduces the passes needed.

Yeah, elaborate. I haven't noticed any pattern for my dk or sm that boosts the drop size.

 

Completely agree.. I've never noticed any real difference in playing style that effects the amount of fairy wood drops... so if know a secret to adding a noticeable difference I'm willing to give it a try.

Granted the map isn't hard, I would have to fall asleep to die, but averaging less than 100 per run it still takes over 30 runs to get the required wood to complete the event...


For the event itself, again it isn't hard to do solo. It's been quite some time since I've done it with a group, but I don't remember that being in a group making the drops any better.

 

If I printed it, someone at DSO would have to change it.

Let's just say different tactics have different results. Keep your eye on the target.

 

fairy wood drops can be between 67 lowest to 163 highest thats my experience. the trees drop either 2 or 5 wood the big boss tree drops either 5,10,20 or 50 wood. Loot drops are grey,green or blue mostly someimes a pink, blackborg is kinda generous with mystic cubes can be 5 a run
There are well over 300 monsters in blackborg so its a good map to do for daily quest kill 300 monsters.
An average of 100 wood/run should be the case even a little more

 

Yeah, i also like to overlap wood farming along with the 300 kill quest.
